The “Ultimate Play Date” with Story Monster and Friends
/Chandler-Based Literary Magazine Publisher to Attend Scottsdale Public Library Event
CHANDLER, AZ (NOV 2019)—Story Monsters LLC is excited to announce that it will once again participate in Scottsdale Public Library’s Ultimate Play Date, an event for children to connect with writers and participate in a series of hands-on art, science and sports activities. The daylong event will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Scottsdale’s Civic Center Library and is free and open to the public.
“This event is such a fun way for authors to engage with children and families and celebrate the art of storytelling with crafts and activities,” says Linda F. Radke, founder of Story Monsters LLC, home to the award-winning Story Monsters Ink® magazine. “We’re thrilled to take part in the Ultimate Play Date again.”
The Story Monster & Friends booth will feature several authors, including Belinda Barbieri, the author of the charming Meet the PopsTM (www.meetthepops.com) children’s educational series about a loving, hardworking farming family who entertains kindergarten to third grade readers with valuable life lessons. At the event, Barbieri will help kids pen the perfect letter to Santa—just in time for Christmas! Other authors scheduled to appear include the award-winning Rosemary Lyn (The Gift of Haley), Dr. Dawn Menge (Queen Vernita’s Visitors) and Kathy Peach (The Tiniest Tumbleweed).
Other activities at the booth will include crown making and sparrow puppet crafts, coloring sheets and more. The lovable, huggable Story Monster also will appear for hugs and photos; and Story Monsters LLC will be selling books and offering free digital subscriptions to Story Monsters Ink, the literary resource for teachers, librarians, and parents.
