CHINESE EDITION PUBLISHING PROGRAM
Bringing Outstanding Children’s Books to Readers Across China
Expand your book's global reach. Story Monsters® Press is proud to announce a new publishing partnership with Shaanxi Science and Technology Press. This exciting collaboration opens the door for exceptional children's books to be professionally translated, published, and distributed throughout Mainland China, helping authors connect with millions of young readers.
This partnership opens the door for authors and publishers to introduce their stories to millions of young readers in one of the world’s largest children’s book markets. Selected titles may be professionally translated, published, and distributed throughout Mainland China, while authors retain ownership of all rights outside the licensed Chinese-language edition.
The partnership was officially launched during a signing ceremony at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Chicago. Together, Story Monsters Press and Shaanxi Science and Technology Press share a commitment to promoting literacy, imagination, kindness, and positive character development while connecting young readers across cultures.
We are currently accepting submissions from authors and publishers who control their Chinese-language rights.
Benefits of Our China Publishing Partnership
Professional representation for Chinese-language publishing rights
Translation, production, and distribution managed by the Chinese publisher
Opportunity to reach millions of young readers throughout Mainland China
Authors retain ownership of all rights except those specifically licensed for the Chinese-language edition
Transparent royalty-sharing agreement for accepted titles
No translation or production costs for selected books
This partnership would not have been possible without the dedication and leadership of Lynn Tang, whose vision and commitment helped bring Story Monsters Press and Shaanxi Science and Technology Press together. We are deeply grateful for her efforts in creating this exciting opportunity for authors and young readers alike.
Submit Your Book for Consideration
Authors and publishers are invited to submit their books for review. Story Monsters Press will evaluate each submission and may select titles to represent and submit to our publishing partner in China for consideration.
Submission Details
Add your book(s) individually in the Story Monsters Store.
Submission fee: $25 per title (non-refundable)
– Add (1) to your cart
– Complete the pop-up form with your information
– Once your order is complete, you will receive a link by email to upload a PDF of your book.
The fee covers review, evaluation, administration, and submission preparation.
You may submit multiple titles; each book must be entered separately, and a submission fee is required for each title.
If a title is accepted by our Chinese publishing partner, translation, production, and publication of the Chinese-language edition are provided at no additional cost to the author or publisher.
Submission Requirements
Please note that only family-friendly, non-denominational books will be considered for review. Story Monsters® LLC reserves the right to refuse books that do not meet the criteria.
Revenue Sharing
Story Monsters Press® will receive royalty payments from the Chinese publisher. Those royalty payments will then be divided 50/50 between Story Monsters Press® and the author or rights holder.
50% to the author
50% to Story Monsters Press
– Payments are made once funds are received from the Chinese publishing partner.
The 50/50 split applies only to the royalty payments actually received by Story Monsters Press® from the Chinese publisher. It is not based on the retail selling price of the book or on the publisher’s total sales revenue.
Although foreign rights royalties are typically modest, many authors consider international publication to be a wonderful opportunity. Your work has the potential to reach new readers in another country.
Marketing and Promotion
An exclusive, fee-based marketing and promotional package will be available for selected authors. Participation is optional and does not affect consideration, representation, or publication.
Please note that submission does not guarantee representation or publication. Story Monsters Press may choose, at its sole discretion, to represent selected titles and submit them for consideration by the Chinese publisher.
Submit your book(s) today and explore whether your story is ready for a global stage.
