Get #CaughtReading with ‘Story Monsters Ink’ Magazine’s New Literacy Campaign
/CHANDLER, AZ (April 2017) – Story Monsters Ink magazine is issuing a fun challenge for parents and teachers everywhere: Catch your students and children reading!
The new campaign, aimed at promoting literacy both in and outside the classroom, asks teachers and families to submit videos “catching” their kids and students reading—in the classroom, in the cafeteria, on the playground, in the living room and more. In addition to fostering a love of reading, the campaign hopes to encourage participation through a contest: One lucky winner will be chosen each month to receive a one-year print subscription to Story Monsters Ink and a Story monster plush reading buddy.
The magazine, a 2016 Gold Award Recipient by Mom’s Choice Awards and named among the best magazines for kids and teens by School Library Journal, is part of the Story Monsters LLC family, a company dedicated to all things literary: Book production and marketing services, and author networking services. The #CaughtReading campaign is a new way for the magazine to get kids around the world enthused about reading.
“When children are celebrated for reading, they cultivate a love that lasts a lifetime,” said Linda F. Radke, president of Story Monsters LLC and publisher of Story Monsters Ink. “So help us celebrate! Encourage your students to get #CaughtReading today.”
To join the challenge, participants should email a short video of their students or children reading to info@storymonsters.com with “Caught Reading” in the subject line. Videos must be submitted with a parent-signed release form to be eligible. Story Monsters Ink will post videos to its YouTube channel and social media pages, and a select few will be included in its magazine.
