2020 Royal Dragonfly Book Award Winners Announced

CHANDLER, AZ (December 2020)—Story Monsters LLC has announced the winners of the 2020 Royal Dragonfly Book Awards, including Grand Prize Winner Merged by Jim and Stephanie Kroepfl, and First Place Drawing Winner Finding Om by Rashmi S. Mismark, MD. The annual Royal Dragonfly Book Award contest is a global competition that honors excellence in all types of literature and book marketing, recognizing a comprehensive list of genres in 71 categories—from Pets to Poetry and LGBT to STEM.
The grand-prize-winning authors are husband-and-wife team Jim and Stephanie Kroepfl, who write stories of mystery and adventure from their cabin in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Merged was also awarded first place in the Science Fiction/Fantasy and Young Adult Fiction categories. This science fiction novel follows the story of gifted teenagers called ‘Nobels’ implanted with ‘Mentor’ minds in a race to accelerate human progress. As the teens face difficulties merging with their Mentor minds and a loss of memory, they question the intent and motivation of the program's top scientists.
Rashmi S. Mismark, MD, winner of the first place $100 drawing, was also selected for first place awards in four categories: Best Illustrations/Photography, Cultural Diversity, New Author: Fiction and Religion/Spirituality. Written for young readers age preschool to third grade, Finding Om tells the story of an Indian African girl who explores the mantra Om with her grandfather. Anu discovers methods of mindfulness that readers of all ages can learn along with her.
