We are now accepting entries for the 2027 Studio Story Monsters® Media Awards Contest.
The Studio Story Monsters® Media Awards contest is open music or theatrical productions published or produced in any calendar year, in any country, provided they are written/performed in English. As long as these criteria are met, we welcome sound recordings and theatrical production submissions from musicians, composers, and playwrights. Entrants must own or have permission to enter the production into the contest.
Early Bird Deadline: December 1, 2026
Enter before this date and entry fees are $75 per category!
After December 1, 2026, the fee is $80 per category.
Final Deadline: March 1, 2027
Entries received after March 1, 2027 will be entered in the following year.
Winners will be announced by the end of May 2027.

Story Monsters LLC® does not accept submissions that include AI-generated or AI-assisted content in any form for its Purple Dragonfly, Royal Dragonfly, Story Monsters Approved, and Studio Story Monsters Media awards programs.
To uphold the integrity, originality, and human creativity that define excellence in literature, we require that all submitted works be created solely by human authors and illustrators.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Illustrations, artwork, or visual elements created or modified using generative AI tools
Text (story, dialogue, descriptions, or any written content) generated or revised by AI
Book covers, interior design elements, or layouts produced with AI assistance
Any hybrid work that combines human-created content with AI-generated or AI-assistednelements
This policy reflects our commitment to:
Supporting and recognizing human authors and illustrators
Ensuring fair and equitable evaluation standards
Preserving the artistic integrity of children’s literature
By submitting a work, entrants certify that:
All content is entirely human-created
No portion of the work has been generated or assisted by AI tools
The work is original and does not replicate or derive from AI-generated material
As technology evolves, Story Monsters LLC may review and update this policy to ensure it continues to reflect best practices and community standards.
