We are now accepting entries for the 2026 Purple Dragonfly Book Award Contest.
The Purple Dragonfly Book Award contest is open to children’s books, eBooks, audiobooks, and musical or theatrical productions published or produced in any calendar year, in any country, provided they are written in English and available for purchase. As long as these criteria are met, we welcome submissions from authors, illustrators, publishers, and self-publishers, as well as sound recordings and theatrical productions from musicians, composers, and playwrights.
Contest entries accepted in 5 formats: printed book, ebook, audiobook, stage and theatrical, music and sound.
Instructions to Enter:
Download and print a list of categories for this contest for your reference.
Choose the appropriate format for your entry
Enter the quantity of categories you are entering for just this one item
The quantity is not the number of items you are entering. It is the number of categories entered for this item.Click Add to Cart
Complete the pop-up form for this item you are entering, choosing the quantity of categories in your cart
Be sure to complete all required fields.
If you are entering another item/format, you will repeat this process.
Be sure to print your receipt. Each item submitted must include a copy of your order.

AUDIOBOOK ENTRIES:
Email one (1) copy of each audiobook for each category in which it is entered. MP3 files are accepted for Audiobook entries. Along with the audiobook, attach one (1) copy of the email confirmation per title for each category in which the audiobook is entered. You may also upload your audiobook file to a google drive and email the secure link.

EARLY BIRD PRICING!
BOOKS: $70 per category for submissions completed on or before March 1, 2026.
After March 1, 2026, the fee is $75 per category.
ebooks: $65 per category for submissions completed on or before March 1, 2026.
After March 1, 2026, the fee is $70 per category.
All Submissions:
Please complete the form on the next screen in its entirety. No materials will be returned. To be eligible, submissions must be postmarked by May 3, 2026 or earlier. Submissions postmarked after that date will not be considered for an award and books will not be returned; however, your entry fee will be refunded. Top award winners will be notified by email the last week of August.
For Printed Books
For Printed Books: Mail one (1) copy of each book for each category in which it is entered. Along with the books, send one (1) printed copy of the email confirmation per title for each category in which the book is entered. All entries may be sent in the same envelope.
