Story Monsters LLC Now Accepting Entries for Three Prestigious Book Award Contests
Chandler, AZ (June, 2020)—Authors and book publishers can compete for a $500 cash prize in three different book award contests that honor and celebrate writing and marketing excellence. Story Monsters LLC, the Arizona-based publisher of Story Monsters Ink® magazine, offers the Royal Dragonfly Book Award contest for all genres of books, the Purple Dragonfly Book Award contest for children’s books up to young adult, and the Story Monsters Approved! book designation program, also for children’s books up to young adult. Authors and publishers are encouraged to enter one contest, two contests, or all three!
“We have been running book contests for 11 years and our past book award winners have enjoyed expanding their fan base and increasing sales because people who seek out quality books pay attention to award-winning books,” says Linda F. Radke, president of Story Monsters LLC. “Winners receive a marketing boost that can result in media coverage about their award-winning books, an additional social media presence and renewed motivation to continue writing, even if their book was published years ago.”
The Royal Dragonfly Book Awards is a worldwide book competition that features all genres of literature and offers a $500 grand prize. Books and marketing collateral published in any year are eligible to win a Dragonfly Book Award, which means winning can give a book valuable renewed attention. The deadline to enter is October 1, 2020.
The Purple Dragonfly Book Awards is a worldwide book competition that celebrates the best in children’s books. These awards honor books and marketing collateral that appeal to children of all ages, and are intended to recognize accomplished and emerging authors, as well as younger published writers, and offers a $500 grand prize. The deadline to enter is May 4, 2021.
The Story Monsters Approved! book designation program recognizes authors of children's books who inspire, inform, teach, or entertain. When a teacher, parent or librarian sees the Story Monsters seal of approval on a book’s cover, they know that it's a quality book that children enjoy and recommend because they assist industry experts in judging the submissions. One exemplary entry also will be named “Book of the Year” and win a $500 grand prize. The deadline to enter is February 1, 2021.
Contest winners receive a digital certificate and winner’s seal for use on their book covers, marketing materials, or website (rolls of seals and hardcopy certificates are available for purchase); a news release template to send to the media; and mention on the Dragonfly Book Award contests website, the Book Briefs blog, and social media. One grand prize winner for each contest will be awarded a $500 cash prize and all entries earning first place will be entered in a drawing for one $100 cash prize. The contests are judged by industry experts with specific knowledge about their judging category.
Alessia Dickson, author of The Crystal Chronicles and recent grand prize winner in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards, says, “One of the happiest moments of my entire career as a teen author was winning the grand prize as well as first place in the youth category in the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards for my YA novel … I feel like I’ve already gained so much exposure in the huge American book market after winning the award …”
